Building What’s Next: Supporting Mission-Driven Affordable Housing Developers
Building affordable housing is challenging. Mission-driven developers are navigating rising construction costs, limited resources, complex financing, and a housing shortage that continues to grow.
We created the Mission Driven Developer Program (MDDP) so that developers don’t have to tackle those challenges alone. The program is designed to help nonprofit and community-based affordable housing developers move projects forward with practical tools, technical assistance, and peer learning.

MDDP brings together affordable housing and community development organizations to learn from one another, explore innovative approaches to development, and get hands-on support for the projects they’re working to bring to life.
Through trainings, technical assistance, and project-based support, MDDP focuses on the questions developers are facing right now: How can we build more housing? How can we make projects financially feasible? And how can we deliver high-quality homes more efficiently?
A Different Approach to Affordable Housing Development
Module approaches housing development from a different perspective. As an offsite construction company with expertise in design, manufacturing, and construction, we work with developers to identify opportunities to reduce risk and make the development process more predictable.
Modular construction is one part of that solution. By moving a significant portion of construction into a controlled manufacturing environment, modular construction can help address some of the challenges associated with stick built.
Successful affordable housing projects also require strong development partners, thoughtful planning, creative financing, and a willingness to rethink how housing gets built.
