Open Position: Construction Manager


Module is looking for a construction manager to run all of our construction activities. We’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable of all facets of ground up residential construction. This person must excel at communicating with all construction trades and personalities. You should be comfortable making decisions in the field working alongside our manufacturing and construction partners. You should have a track record of executing projects that are on time, on budget and to a high level of quality finish. Think you're a good fit? Location: Pittsburgh, PA


Lead Module’s Construction Projects

  • Manage Project Coordination 

    • Coordinate all of Module’s on-site and off-site construction activities with subcontractors. This will include:

      • Site visits, Factory visits, Modular set coordination, and On-site Construction coordination.

    • Create and track project schedule and costs

      • Make project updates to the team

      • Ensure adherence to project processes (RFI’s, CO’s)

  • Assist with Scoping and Contracts

    • Finalize scopes and contracts with the project team. 

      • Identification of project type and corresponding contracts

      • Preparation of contract exhibits and addendums to reflect complete project scope

  • Manage Quality Control, Documentation, & Inspections

    • Manage the site superintendent to ensure that homes are being built to Module’s standards and identify other opportunities to improve Module’s process and product.

    • Review reports from the site superintendent 

  • Manage Communication with City Permits & License Departments

    • Coordinate construction phase of permitting and inspections

    • Schedule city inspections (MEP, DOMI, Occupancy permits)


  • Project Planning

    • Review construction budgets, create schedules, create estimates, source suppliers and contractors 

  • Pre-Construction Coordination with Contractors & Subcontractors 

    • Manage bid processes, review submittals, and coordinate schematics with the project team (modular manufacturer, foundation manufacturer, general contractor, set crews, MEP subcontractors, and equipment delivery partners).

  • Due Diligence

    • Review surveys, geotech reports, drawings, and assist in coordinating with third party engineers for site, civil, and infrastructure plans.

  • Meet on-site and in the factory with construction partners, materials suppliers, and laborers

  • Travel to modular factory partners periodically during construction to implement quality control protocols.

  • Work alongside other members of the Module team to educate and implement process and product improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements 
  • Proven work experience in construction management for new construction

  • BS in Construction Management is preferred

  • 10 years experience in a similar role is preferred, 5 years is required

  • Experience conducting Quality Control efforts, including developing, and managing punchlists

  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes

  • Experience in field execution, including management of subcontractors 

  • Proficiency in creating construction schedules and developing scopes of work for various subcontractors

  • Competent & confident in crisis Management

  • Familiarity with Pittsburgh’s Inspection Process is preferred

  • Ability to understand and read construction documents and drawings from architects, civil engineers, and other subconsultants. 

  • Basic Software Experience 

    • MS Excel, Google Suite

  • Base Salary Range: $75K - $95K

  • Equity Stock Options
